Building in Public: Rune Soul Dev Begins
Lair Productions is now live.
Rune Soul is in pre-alpha — core survival systems are built and being validated, the world of Eldrathis is taking shape, and the foundation is solid enough to start talking about it.
What is Rune Soul?
An open world survival, crafting, and village-to-kingdom management game. You start with nothing in a broken world and end with a civilization capable of standing against ancient corrupted gods.
The game is designed to reward players who think in systems. Every early survival decision naturally scaffolds toward late-game automation and kingdom management. Nothing is gated arbitrarily.
Where it’s at
Core mechanics are in place: survival stats, crafting, world generation, multiplayer foundation. The world of Eldrathis — its lore, its factions, its first boss — is designed and documented. Now it’s about execution.
No release date yet. The game ships when it’s ready.
Why build in public?
Because the journey is worth documenting. Game development is full of interesting decisions: architecture choices, design pivots, art pipeline discoveries, things that work and things that absolutely don’t.
This devlog is where I’ll track all of it — unfiltered, ongoing, from pre-alpha to release.
More soon.
